Title: Generations Pastor
Purpose: The Generations Pastor will champion the church’s vision for connecting and discipling our adult church congregation. Plan and carry out the church’s adult discipleship goals and objectives as directed below and as new opportunities present themselves. Adult ministry shall be for, with, and by adults at all stages of adulthood so adults in the congregation and community will grow in faith as Christian disciples.

Requirements/Overview:
Must have experience leading a team of both men and women. Must have an extensive understanding of the discipleship process including teaching Bible content, spiritual disciplines, and service.
Useful skills for this position are the ability to listen to and communicate with people of all ages and the ability to work with other ministry leaders, delegate responsibility, and follow up to complete tasks.
This leader will advocate that all adults are welcome and expected to be vital participants in all aspects of church ministry. The Generational Pastor will also raise congregational awareness of the needs and contributions of adults at all stages of adulthood in the community and the world.
Clearly define and set goals in a creative and compelling way to describe what a
healthy adult disciple looks like.
Have three or more of these spiritual gifts: servanthood, teaching, exhortation (encouragement), leadership, administration, helping, and shepherding.
This leader should show genuine interest in responding to the hopes and concerns of adults in various stages of adulthood in the community and congregation.
Work with church and community leaders of all ages to address the needs of adults and opportunities for growing as Christian disciples.
Inside (the church):
Be responsible for collaborating with and giving support and leadership for all Adult Ministries from a generational discipleship format.
Work to develop speciality groups (helps, grief, life, recovery, outreach, etc.,) to provide a ministry to individuals and or families going through a specific and unique life situation.
Provide leadership and training for the church in the areas of Biblical Theology, generational discipleship, evangelism, apologetics and Biblical worldview so they can engage the culture.
Innovate, evaluate and lead new strategies to help the church reach adults of all ages with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Strategizes and implement significant connecting events, on both a church-wide and community outreach level.
Assist in recruiting, training, equipping and encouraging and caring for adult ministry volunteers as they serve.
Cast a compelling and motivating vision for adult ministry involvement.
Outside:
Be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with community leaders, authorities and denominational leaders in matters related to adult ministries.
Be attentive to the hopes, concerns, and needs of adults in the community to determine how the congregation might serve them and how they might serve one another as Christian disciples and good neighbors.
Identify key people in the community and congregation for collaboration and expansion of opportunities for all adults.
Cast a compelling and motivating vision for community involvement and engagement.
Encourage, plan, participate and/or oversee outreach/mission events and/or community events for the purpose of reaching the unchurched adults in our community.
Intentionally communicate with organizations, people and resources in the community that relate to adults and will seek to connect the congregation with the community.
Alongside:
Primarily work with the Student’s and Connections Leaders in developing and implementing a church-wide plan for discipleship and reaching the next generations for Jesus Christ.
Collaborate with the entire Church staff to maintain clear and consistent messaging regarding adult ministries.
Provide leadership, direction, and cohesion within the adult ministries teams.
Besides all that:
Be a part of the Pastoral Lead team to help fulfill the church vision as a whole.
Champion the vision and direction of the Kirby Discipleship plan.
• Assist in helping to care for the congregational needs of the church.
• Help in church wide events to support the mission and vision of the church.
• Participate in all staff meetings and prayer times.
Provide theological leadership and biblical teaching to the congregation. • Manage the budget for the family ministry team.
The Generations Pastor will report directly to the Lead Pastor.
Be available for counseling, prayer, and other congregational pastoral care activities (funerals, weddings, baptisms, etc.).
Perform other pastoral duties as assigned by the Executive Pastor (operations, etc…)
Be the primary hospital visitation pastor.
Take the initiative to collaborate with others to take action steps.
